Not at all. We can do this, and do it the right way. A lot of us have to act in concert, no one can do it alone, but it can be done. It's just a matter of getting back to our used to be. Oh yeah. By that I mean, back to healthcare that is nonprofit. That's right, no profits.
Remember when health insurance was affordable? Before mega corporations took over and made billions of dollars in profis every year their main concern? Whatever happened to providing health care as their main purpose? It seems to have gotten lost in the corporate boardrooms and numbers crunching for the bottom line, and shareholders to be made happy, not those who bought the health insurance. They only paid the premiums and supplied all the money, that's all. And when they got sick, they expected to receive some health care. Little did they know, before they became ill, that it would be provided only if it didn't affect the mega profits now required by health insurance companies.
I think that instead of being in the health insurance business, these companies should be selling things like used cars. They don't kill people with neglect and denial of needed medical care when they sell used cars. There still should be a nifty profit in it, so the companies should like that part, and the rest of America can start obtaining real healthcare coverage without going broke trying to get it.
All we have to do is create a nonprofit organization that will provide the health insurance. No paying a CEO ten or twenty million dollars a year, no making billions of dollars in profit off other people's suffering and sickness, and denying coverage when it should be given, oh no, none of that has to happen.
All that has to happen is that a truly nonprofit Health Insurance Company be formed, and enough people buy their health insurance through it. That's it folks, no special formla, no secret method, no hoping for miracles to obtain health care when we need it. When enough people sign up for it, contracts can be made with hospitals, pharmacies, and doctor's groups, and that's how it works.
Just a company that puts our health needs above anything else, as it should do. If we cut out the need for a profit, and only have to pay operating expenses, and salaries that are reasonable, we can do it, and have good, reliable, healthcare in a nanosecond !!
And those who make those mega profits off denying coverage to those who have paid premiums to obtain it, can go sell those used cars. The car lots are calling.
